Matt Sidnell provides mortgage and protection advice through My Simple Mortgage Ltd, trading as My Simple Mortgage. My Simple Mortgage Ltd is the data controller for personal information provided directly through this website or during an initial enquiry.
My Simple Mortgage Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions Ltd. Stonebridge may receive and process personal information for network, compliance and regulated business purposes. Where Stonebridge acts as a separate controller, its own privacy policy applies.

2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the website or contact Matt, we may collect:
- Your name, telephone number, email address and appointment details.
- The information you choose to include in a WhatsApp message, telephone conversation or booking note.
- Basic technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as an IP address, browser type, device information, access time and security logs.
- Information about your mortgage or protection enquiry if you choose to provide it.
- Later in the advice process, identification, financial, employment, property, credit and other information needed to assess your circumstances.
- Health information where it is relevant to a protection application and is collected through an appropriate secure process.
Please do not send bank details, identity documents, policy numbers, passwords, detailed medical information or sensitive financial records through ordinary booking notes or WhatsApp unless a secure process has been agreed.
3. How and why we use personal information
If special category information, such as health information, is required, it will only be processed where an additional lawful condition applies. This will be explained when the information is requested. Personal information is not sold.
6. How long we keep information
Personal information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, regulatory, accounting, complaints and fraud prevention requirements.
- Routine initial enquiries that do not progress are normally reviewed for deletion or anonymisation within 12 months.
- Booking and correspondence records are retained only while needed to manage the enquiry and any follow up.
- If you become a client, advice and transaction records are retained in line with applicable legal, regulatory and Stonebridge record keeping requirements. The client privacy notice gives further detail.
- Information relevant to a complaint, legal claim or regulatory matter may be retained for longer where necessary.
7. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction, transfer of information you supplied, or to object to particular processing. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis used. These rights can be subject to legal limits and exemptions.
You will not normally be charged for making a rights request. We may need enough information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant records.
